Your first campout starts with one Monday night
Try an outing
Prospective scouts are welcome to join a campout or a day activity with a parent along, so both of you can see how a weekend actually works.
Register
Complete the Scouting America youth application and annual dues. We'll walk you through the online registration and the health form you'll need for camping.
Get placed in a patrol
New scouts are assigned to a patrol and paired with a Troop Guide who helps with early rank requirements and gear questions.
Who can join
Youth who have finished fifth grade, are age 11, or have earned the Arrow of Light, through age 17. Scouts come from schools across Los Altos, Mountain View, and nearby communities.

Monday evenings, 7:00–8:00 PM, in Room 1 at Grant Park, 1575 Holt Ave, Los Altos, CA 94024, during the school year.
