The Patrol Method
Four patrols of roughly a dozen scouts each. Patrols camp together, cook together, and compete together. Leadership rotates so everyone gets a turn.
About the troop
Troop 75 is a large, active troop — big enough to run four patrols and a year-round outdoor program, small enough that every scout is known by name. Our program is genuinely scout-led: the Senior Patrol Leader is elected by the scouts, patrol leaders run their own patrols, and trained adult leaders coach from behind rather than direct from the front.
That means a twelve-year-old will plan a menu, cook it over a stove in the rain, and learn something about planning ahead. A sixteen-year-old will run a meeting for fifty people. Both of them will be better for it.

Scouts move from Scout rank to Eagle at their own pace, supported by Troop Guides and an advancement chair. Boards of review and courts of honor keep momentum going.
Over sixty badges are available through parent and community counselors — First Aid, Cooking, Engineering, Personal Fitness, Personal Management, and many more.
Sunset Beach, Castle Rock, Angel Island, Manresa State Beach, and Sierra snow trips. One or two nights, planned by the scouts.
A full week each summer at a Sierra scout camp: badges in the morning, swimming and shooting sports in the afternoon, campfires at night.
Philmont Scout Ranch 50+ mile treks, Northern Tier canoe expeditions in Ontario, and other trips reserved for older, experienced scouts.
